For the last ten years, The Eta Gamma Chapter of Sigma Chi has called "Greek Row, Building Number Five" home. As a brother who was part of the original class to move into the house and has served a six year term as chapter advisor, I can tell you firsthand that thriving on Greek Row has not been without challenges. Through the ups and downs of the last ten years, a few things have remained constant: Young Men Join Sigma Chi and develop lifelong friendships, learn leadership lessons, and experience our Ritual, which endeavors them to strive just beyond their reach not only while in school, but throughout their lives. Just as when you were in school, that has not changed!
As Eta Gamma turns 40 years old this year, the legacy started by Chi Alpha Pi can continue to grow and thrive at MTSU, but alumni support is vital to this organization. Imagine when you were in college, having the responsibility of paying a $10,000 monthly rent bill! That is what Eta Gamma must do! As alumni, it is not our duty to make this obligation for the active chapter; however, it is our responsibility to ensure there is a stable house corporation. That, during lean times, can assist Eta Gamma with mature leadership and financial stability.
As we begin our annual giving campaign, please consider including the Sigma Chi Building Fund housed with the MTSU Foundation with your charitable contributions list. Sigma Chi has played an important role in all our lives, and for The White Cross to continue to impact students at MTSU, your help is needed! Details regarding this annual giving plan are available in the News Section of this website.
